I would imagine that you will have the same electricity& gas supply for both, just purely because it is easier for the builders to nominate the same supply for both gas & electricity. Phone MPAS & see if there an electricity supplier has been nominated if there has, give them a call& hopefully the gas will be with them& they can also give you the MPRN.0

New build, could be and most likely will be an IGT.0

If you're wanting to check that the information they are giving you is correct (as it has been know to get mixed up), you should turn all electrical applicances on, and depending on the type of meter you should either see an LED flashing fast, or a wheel spinning round fast, then turn all your elec appliances off, and it should virtually come to a stop. Same routine for the gas meter as well. This was you will definitly know the correct serial numbers for the meters hooked up to your flat.Sunny in Southampton.0

I had to phone transco for the gas one and phoned the national grid for the elec one. However it took ages to get the gas one as the road and postcode is wrong on their system and they wouldn't update it!
It is not a matter of they would not update it --- the information held on the data base by national grid is supplied to them via xoserve by the suppliers and it is the supplier alone that can have information amended on the system.
National grid cannot amend it, you the customer cannot amend it, Just the supplier can.I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0 -
Thanks for all your help tinkerbelle. I phoned them up to check my number and they say there is no gas supply to the property, yet before I was given a number. Hmmmmm
If you called the mnumber line they definitely would not have said no gas supply to the property they would tell that no details are held and that as that you can contact any gas supplier of choice, tell them National Grid Hold no records and you can then register a supply in your name with them.
I work for national grid and deal with such calls on a daily basis so know exactly what you would have been told on the reccorded lines.I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0
