That's cos the balance on your First Direct is the highest...:p
I just wanted to be certain that you are paying well over the interest you're being charged so actually reducing the balances in real terms...
Once you've got the Vanquis cleared the overdraft should be less of a problem then...that's good.:D
Are you 'clobbering' one card at a time as I suggested?
Might be an idea to keep cereal bars in the car to allow for all these breakfasts...;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Yea, what I meant was, owe £1000 (nearly) on the FD card and nearly £500 each on the other two, but pay twice as much interest on those - just shows how much Vanquis charge eh!
Yes, one card at a time
thank you bossy lady, :rotfl:but I think the idea of cereal bars is great - thanks

How about the Weekly Spend Challenge?
Set yourself a budget and come and confess daily to us!
I set myself £30 a week for carp I don't need. I have separate budgets for going out socialising and for groceries, but I do fritter on food and caffeine. This challenge keeps me in check!0 -
That's a good idea FF (oooh, just realised we have the same initials - how sad am I ) Will have a look and see what I can come up with...

I do try, but he is a nightmare. He lived with his mum for years and then moved in with a girlfriend who seems to have done it all for him. Even when he tries he's sh*t to be honest :rotfl:Flylady_Flower wrote: »

If he cleaned the pile of dishes in the kitchen (The ones I told him to do yesterday) I would have to go in after him and wash off all the bits of old food. I have told him, as has my OH, that he needs to be more careful, but nope.
One day, one glorious day, I will have enough money to get him to find another place to live. Just not anytime soon :rotfl:0 -

Oooh, sorry, shows what presumption does eh!
I know the problem though, I married one of those... Mum did EVERYTHING for him, although I have trained him well and he thinks he can even cook better than me now (he's probably right:rotfl:)
Because of that, I have trained my DS well too - plus I want help around the home and all this 'doing stuff wrong just to get out of it' just means he just has to practice more... :rotfl::rotfl:Must be hard though when he's not 'yours' as it were, I can nag till my hearts content

Hi there didn't want to read and run.
well done on starting to sort this out. I know you like sky but could you downgrade to freeview for a few months just to save the money? You could get it back once the vanquis cards are paid off.
Also ref the social loan. You said that it was for something 6 years ago? Well I don't know it this is the case, but other sorts of debts are unenforceable after 6 years of no contact/last payment. You might want to post about this on the benefits forum.
good luck

Thanks for reading chevalier, any imput is much appreciated.
I've looked at that, but we are tied into a contract at the moment - I could loose a couple of the 'packages' (we currently have four) but that would only save £2-3 a month and I must admit to it being one of my weaknesses as I don't go out except when hubby is home, and that is only every other weekend (he works away for 11 days, home for 3).
I wasn't sure about the time frame either, I think it may just be in, which is probably why it was so forceful. I will contact them again though and find out the dates, ect so I can check it out (I probably have paperwork somewhere but godness only knows where). Ha ha, glad I've cheered someone up on this miserable wet day...
I changed my name as I originally had my real name as my ID, and wanted to be a bit more inconspicuous, but as my surname was Fowler, I kept getting called flower anyway, and being mainly on the flylady thread it just fitted... Keep smiling at work and keep them wondering...
