can I suggest that rather than put cash into a PAD pot you actually bung it on the card as soon as you can - because the sooner it goes in it lowers the balance you're paying interest on...assuming it's your most expensive vanquis card you are paying - it will save you a tiny bit of interest but on the rates you're paying probably quite a lot, really (no doubt some financial genius/maths whizz could tell me how to actually work this out)
ALSO if you have earmarked a portion of your wages to go on your credit card pay that portion off as soon as the wages hit your bank rather than when your CC is due
2 reasons
1 - you won't forget to make the payment
2 - it reduces the balance earlier so you are paying less interest
I do this - and then panic around payment due time :rotfl: and have to double check - it means I am paying about three weeks earlier than I need to!
I know you are expecting that 'ship' to come in but I would still do this as it WILL save you a few quid...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Your right Valli, I should and I have over £40 in there at the moment, plus I can do it online - I know sometimes it's less than £1, but like you say, it all helps. can't wait for the insurance money to come through though and get rid of it totally.

See, little kicks up the butt do help... :rotfl:
The Good stuff:
I have been at work all day today -7 hours so another £70 earned and more work to do for rest of the week, so that will be good.
I got a few plants off Freecycle for the garden today, very pleased as we need some colour in the garden so this will help.
Also got a plugin bell for our club as we cannot hear people at the front door when in the office, so that's good
I have also (thanks to Valli
) just transferred £40.34 from my PAD savings to the vanquis card - bit less to pay now...:D
The Naughty stuff:
I knew it would be hard going not to spend at the office today, but I overdid it, so didn't have time to do any lunch before I left, so I 'had' to buy a jacket potatoe for lunch and a kit-kat (well, Aunt Flo demanded it
) so there went £2.35.
After I picked up the bell and the plants, I was too tired to cook, so we had Maccy D's for dinner... I'm really angry with myself about this as there was no need - hence me putting it on here to shame myself... £10.04 down the drain that could have gone off something... this could be where our money is going... I will have to keep a tighter rein on these finances...
No other bills today but will need fuel tomorrow, but that will come out Thursday which is payday...:jLBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -

I love Aunt Flo, she wakes me up at the most wonderful hours - 6.30am this morning so I am gleefully bouncing about now like a domestic goddess and sorting out washing, tidying up the front room and having a cup of tea - well, I'm up drinking tea anyway!
I have emptied the WM and have tidied the front room, but that was only so I could get to the laptop and my stuff... I feel like death warmed up this morning but it will pass once the antihistamines kick in - blooming hayfever, can't even enjoy summer can you...
OK, seems I'm on a bit of a downer this morning, better kick that pretty quick.
Not going out today so should be a non-spend day. One of the things I noticed from spending yesterday is that I need to sort my meal planning out again - it's preparation I think, when I know I'm working I need to have food that we can either microwave quickly or chuck something in the slow cooker ready for when I get home - now this is where I struggle as don't really like cooking, so I will have to make sure I do this...
OK, sun is shining, WM on again, I really need to do some work now - Accounts for an hour out of the way (I connect remotly to the office one, and someone else will be there at 9am and want to get on)LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
Have been busy cleaning today as hubby due home tomorrow so I want it to be nice and clean for when he gets here and so I don't spend all my time cleaning while he's home.
He is taking his Bike Theory Test on Saturday and is saving up for the full test and a motorbike, which will be MSE as he will the sell his car and use the bike to get to/from work and about in general - massive savings on fuel/insurance and stuff then...
although I don't like him driving a bike, I must admit...
Have also arranged for his Physio for his arm to be done in Basingstoke while he is working there, which is brilliant as there is no point him driving all the way back here for 1 hours treatment, loosing a days work and driving all the way back - the stress alone will negate the treatment...
The Good Stuff:
No spending today, so that is good. I'm about to see what food we have in and mealplan around it to take me through until next Friday (I go shopping on a Thursday) and then I can get what we need from that (no extra spending, so will NOT be taking DS with me...;)
The Bad stuff:
Interest came out today for last months overdraft - not too bad though, was £2.87, but will be glad when it is £0
The lunch from yesterday also came out, but not the MaccyD's - suppose that will be tomorrow
The Naughty Stuff:
None today :j I have been a good girl and even taking my library book back early so I don't pay any charges...
I'm quite enjoying this. I've always kept an eye on whats going in and out, but just putting it into words (can you tell I like words?
) makes me think about it that much more - I am now going to start dinner, which I wouldn't have done before, I would be working till about 7pm and then decide I was starving so drive to the chip shop... :T

Have been a busy bee today - went up the club (I am on the committee) and decorated with all the St Georges stuff and then painted a wall that had been plasterboarded, so got back about 5pm and have been sitting dozing in front of the TV since, I am poggered...

Have just checked what's come out of the bank and reccied up and have made my PAD too, will do dinner soon and then fall asleep I think...;)
The Good Stuff:
Went into Tesco this morning and didn't buy anything except the Paint and Batteries I had to get for the club - I get that money back though... :T
Paid a PAD of £8.43 off the credit card
The Bad stuff:
Spending from yesterday came out today
£10.06 at the Macdonalds
£6.02 on shopping (must haves, no extras
)
The Naughty Stuff:
I had to go back to Tesco after I had finished at the club to get the receipt for the paint and batteries I brought there today (The original receipt got lost) - But when I was in there, I heard some cream cakes calling my name and I brought them
. So I spent £2 on cakes to take home for me, hubby and DS (but they were nice...;))

DD has had her letter now accepting her to Uni!!!:j
She was going to go to college, pay £1200 for the course and take things from there, but when we went to the interview, we mentioned the Foundation Degree and she has gone for that instead!. I am sooooo proud of her, she is Dyslexic and has struggled all through school, so this is a great achievement for her and she is sooo excited about it. at the end of the two years there is a fashion show at London Fashion week and she gets to sell her clothes and hopefully get commissions and a job too!
She will still work up the hospital but obviously her hours will be cut back, but she will need spending money and money to buy fabrics, ect.
Ooooh, I wish I was 19 again...
Off to do her student loan application (the only bad bit, but at least it's a sensible debt eh!)LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -

lol at your good, bad and naughty...
It's good coz it helps me think about where the moneys going... not to good places eh! (well, chocolate's good I suppose...;))
Just had a horrible letter in from DWP demanding £404.28 and a debt collection agency...
Phoned them up as didn't even know what it was for and apparently it's from a social loan when we got the temporary accommodation to get beds, cooker, etc when hubby was out of work as we had nothing at the time, we were paying back from his JSA, but as hubby got a job soon after, the payments didn't continue, no letters since and completly forgot about it... (well, it was 6 years ago!) just made arrangements to pay £10 per week by SO - thought as there is no interest on it, pay the minimum and pay any spare money off stuff that does have interest...
I thought my debts were supposed to be going down??? ***sigh***
Good news is my wages went in today, so don't have to stress about next weeks money now...:TLBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0
