International calls to pakistan
Options
I hav nearly driven myself insane trying to find cheaper ways of calling pakistan, including searching this site for hours, but i'm afraid now i'm gonna hav to ask for help
I call from my mobile (landline not possible) to pakistan mobile in the evenings. I hav skype on my pc but its too expensive and they dont have a subscription for pak. i dont really like using phone cards because of the poor line quality. Rebtel is no good to me either because ak isnt a rebtel country yet. Someone mentioned VoIP but i havent seen any that r cheap to call pak. I pay 10p per min and am looking to pay maybe half that, I'm not dreaming of free calls, just slightly cheaper
I hav o2 payandgo with unlimited minutes to landline or o2 mobs, so any 0844 numbers etc r no good to me.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Sorry if i posted in the wrong forum, i couldnt decide where the thread should go

if you can get your phone a landline number, e.g get it a rebtel number.
use poketalk
www.poketalk.com
you use the website, it calls a (your) landline number, it connects you to family.
10mins a call. hang up and call agian.
superb sound quality0 -
thanks for ur help. I went on the site and pakistan isnt listed for free so from wht i can gather i think if i was to call from mob i would cost me 18p a min and if i was to get landline number it would cost me 9.5p?0

i didnt look deeply in to it, but you can go 'pro'
make a account and click the pro tab, see if the rates are favorable0 -
I think you'd be lucky if you found rates much under 7 or 8 pence a minute anywhere, after more taxation increases by the Pakistan government, and lower rates would only be temporary until providers update their tariffs
The MSE Callchecker finds some rates via 0844 numbers, but these would only be useful calling from a landline. I'd go with Localphone by the look of things.0 -
Get a Nomi mobile sim, 4p a min to landlines or Mobiles if you call via the 0208 access number (ie UK landline), or around 8p direct from the sim.
Call quality is crystal clear in my experience, and the credit does not disappear in a week like the tradititional scratch cards!0 -
thanks for the advice about the nomi sim, i purchased a few from ebay , i got a great deal 4 for 99p + 99p posatge. they each get £2 credit when i register aswell! i handed them to my family n they hav tried them and it is 4p to call pakistan from landlines and 9p from mobile. no connection fee, easy to top up and no minutes lost like with phone cards. thank u0

You should definitely try Jaxtr for making free calls to Pakistan. This is how is works:
- Select your country from the list and enter your number from where you want to make a call
- Select your country from the list and enter your desire/destination number where you want to make a call.
- Now Jaxtr will give you a local number to reach that person, just dial that number from your phone. Here if your destination party dials that number, then jaxtr notifies the person you are calling with a local number to call and get connected. Just give it a try for better understanding
- Now you can talk for as long as you can.Its 100% free.
