Forumite
Chopped it up and cancelled the account and asked for a letter to be sent confirming it had been closed
It was in credit so this amount has been moved to my current account
With any luck I should be able to put a good few hundred either into my loan OR my Egg card. But at the moment the Egg card is 0% so might leave that for a few months (obviously still paying regular monthly payment) and just plough the spare cash into the loan
Feeling gooooooooooooooooooood
I currently have
1 Egg card 0% apr £845
1 Loan (Egg) 7.7% apr I think £8450
and my current account is in credit of over £1100!!! Doing good so far!!!

Wow! Look at your sig! That's an impressive reduction for a month!!Mortgage-free wannabe!0

The main saving so far has been from cancelling my PPI to be honest. I decided to go for a lower monthly reduction but all in all I was going to be paying £2200 over 3-4 years for PPI, now I'll pay £8 a month instead of over £40! (the saving in my sig includes the new cost of independant insurance)
Of course i still need to look at ordering some heating oil which will cost about £200-250, but compared to being overdrawnby this time each month normally then I am feeling pretty damned good :DMy OH thinks I have become money and budget obsessed tho - however little does he know what is in store for him when I have got myself on the straight and narrow! He will be next on my list to get sorted out as his debts are higher than mine LOLDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Well i keep looking at my current account when i spend money and thinking "If I buy that then it's soon going to be only £100 extra I can take of my loan this month instead of maybe £1000!" Soons sobers you up I can promise you

I won't transfer the money to my loan until my next paycheck though just in case
However the bill for heating oil won't come through for another month I think... they aren't very fast with their billing lol!!!
Ok ok so I'm toying with transfering £500 into the loan already leaving me £700 for the month for everything and emergencies... Also have £200 in my paypal account which I am leaving put for now... just in case anything goes wrong with the mobile phone I sold (seperate thread lol)
I might also start paying more towards the mortgage... take some weight of my OH but I don't want to do that until I have had a look at his finances and seen what we need to do to get him debt free too
Oh yeah AND IT'S 10P LISTING ON EBAY TODAY so I'll e going through lots of stuff and move the kitchen scales up in the office to see what else I can list heheheheDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I done it! heehee I just transfered £500 to my loan so I have (I'm being very conservative now) £800 left in my easily accessible accounts for the month and I am calculating £250 for oil leaving me with £450. There is still money to come back from various places too. £25 from quidco but that'll be a month or so I think. £95 from my new current account with A&L when they get round to approving it lol and a few other bits
plus ofcourse more stuff on ebay
