Question about paying with vouchers and returning items...

Hey everyone,
I wondered whether I could pay for something with vouchers and then return the item to the store the next day for the money instead?
It's a bit sneaky, I know, but I have vouchers for clothes shops I would never use and would rather the money go towards some bills for the house

They will be able to see on the receipt that you paid by voucher, so will refund you in vouchers.:j30/7/10:j

As the two posters above have said, you will not be allowed to do this. The receipt will clearly state that you paid in vouchers."MIND IF I USE YOUR PHONE? IF WORD GETS OUT THATI'M MISSING FIVE HUNDRED GIRLS WILL KILL THEMSELVES."0

Erm......a big fat NO!If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

I paid for a tv with vouchers in currys, found it cheaper elsewhere so I went back in and they refunded me £20 cash.
It depends what shop you're in.. A supermarket would probably refund you in cash if it's a few pounds. If you're trying to make money from it then no :P0 -

Currys would not refund you the whole amount as cash. You invoked a price guarantee, and as such the money comes from a different pot, so there was no need to 'refund' you by the same method.
A supermarket will put a refund on to a giftcard, irrespective of how small the amount.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Sainsburys always give me the cash for small amounts.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -

Interesting, they must use store discretion, and from a financial point of view, it is a poor decision. The difficulty with giving a different means of exchange on refunds is that it messes up the accounting system. I doubt your store gets good audit reports!

I'm guessing most shops would say no, but I did it in M&S a while back and was given the money back in cash. Maybe I just got lucky.
Any friends or relatives who use the shop who'd buy them off you?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
