I've gone right off of Ipods. Bought three for my sons, 2 from the refurb store, one returned immediately as faulty and refunded. One returned after 6 months as faulty and redunded. Third one returned faulty after 4 months and repaired and now after 8 months is faulty again and I'm sitting here waiting for the UPS man to take it back again. One of the refunded ones was replaced but that died after a few months and was refunded. I'm now replacing them with Zen's.

The only thing I would say about Apple is that they are quick to offer a repair once you have tried troubleshooting without success. They are very aware that the iods have problems, so very little hassle , except for constantly waiting for the uPS man of course. Also be aware that when buying from the refurb store you cna get an instant refund for (I think) 14 days if the ipod devops a fault. So as soon as you get it use it a lot to make sure there are no niggles or minor problems as it is very easy to get a refund within that time period.

As an iPod "virgin" can anyone explain what the "Non click wheel" means exactly? Does it refer to the whell on the front not actually doing anything!!?!?!? Probably a stupid question!

Also, the ones selling for £76 - are they are really old model?

As I said i know nothing about iPods so dont know if these are good or bad!!

Non-click refers to the controls disc on the front. It is touch-sensitive rather than having a tactile movement. The non-click ones are 3rd generation (current ipods are 5th gen) but for the price seem decent value - I have had a look around and can't see any other 10GB MP3 player for 76 quid.

The non-clickwheel iPods have four buttons above the wheel.

Clickwheel iPods have these buttons incorporated into the wheel.
