  • You can pay a CC cheque to anyone. Ask for a CC cheque to be made out to yourself. Then pay using your current account once cheque clears

Can I do that? They have sent me a load of blank cheques. Can I just pay one into my account? Wouldnt I get charged the cash advance interest rate then?

My empty CC is with Natwest and my bank account is also with them so cant do balance transfer as an overdraft as I havent got one. Just called to ask if i can use CC chq and they said it would reject, just like a BT.
They tried fiddling round with the 19 digit number to see if they could make it work but taking off the 1st 3 but it still wouldnt go through.

[1] Why can't you apply for an overdraft with your bank and pay it off?

[2] A personal loan of £1800.00 over 12 months would be more cost effective than Barclaycard applying the £500.00 to your Homebase card;)

I guess I could do either option, I was just trying to avoid paying any interest whatsoever.
Had a look at loan rates and because its a low amount the rates are really high.

Overdraft option would be the best choice IMHO;)

Barclayscard issues the homebase card? Never knew that. And i agree that the overdraft is the best option too.

Sorry just seen similar over in CAG - it isn't your average storecard..... ok, to do it write a credit card cheque, only if they give you 0% though..... or do a B/T into your bank account and then pay homebase from your bank - there are other ways around this....
