Homebase store card

Hi everyone, I bought a kitchen from homebase last year and put it on their storecard with interest free for a year. The interest free period is about to expire and I still owe about £1800 on it so thought I would balance transfer it to my credit card which has a 0% offer on it. I tried to do it today and was told they dont accept homebase cards.
Tried it to a different credit card and was told exactly the same.
Anyone know why it wouldnt be accepted anywhere?
Homebase is Barclays and I tried to do it a Natwest Card or a Halifax Card.
I really dont want to have to leave it where it is as next month (the 1st interest paying month) they are going to put £500 interest on (which has accrued over the 12 months since I bought) then I will have to pay interest on the higher balance until that is paid off!

who issue the homebase card? Ahh sorry, Barclays - so Barclayscard....
Use that as the company name as most CC's do allow store card balance transfers and natwest did last I heard (not 100% sure on this tho).....
Just change the issuer from homebase to the Barclaycard. that should go through....2010 - year of the troll

The card has a 19 digit number though so they know its not a normal credit card. Just found another thread that says that homebase cards cant be transferred!0 -

Sorry just seen similar over in CAG - it isn't your average storecard..... ok, to do it write a credit card cheque, only if they give you 0% though..... or do a B/T into your bank account and then pay homebase from your bank - there are other ways around this....2010 - year of the troll

Most store card balances CANNOT be transferred to credit cards due to the different operating methods used. There are a very small handfull of exceptions to this, NEXT being one of them.0 -

Next, Argos, House of Frazer, Debenhams - they all accept them.... they are the main ones.
edit. dont some card issuers actually offer promotions for storecards? I seen this when I applied for Abbey, it had a section for storecards which didn't have the usual 16 boxes (it had 20) and also had one for Amex with less numbers....... Maybe that's what i'm thinking of then.....2010 - year of the troll

My empty CC is with Natwest and my bank account is also with them so cant do balance transfer as an overdraft as I havent got one. Just called to ask if i can use CC chq and they said it would reject, just like a BT.
They tried fiddling round with the 19 digit number to see if they could make it work but taking off the 1st 3 but it still wouldnt go through.0 -

You can pay a CC cheque to anyone. Ask for a CC cheque to be made out to yourself. Then pay using your current account once cheque clears :cool:Bank Accounts - Barlcays Premier[/B] - £1000 o/d, HSBC - £200 o/d- First Direct - £500
Credit Cards - Barclaycard £2000 - Silver Card £1300 - Flybe £7500 - HSBC £1000 - First Direct £2500 First Direct Gold £3000
6 credit accounts closed in 2010!
Official SOS Club number 001 - Dry until 01.07.100 -

I have a Natwest CC with 0% offer on BT.
I have a Halifax card with 5.9% offer on BT but dont want to use this one as it already has a balance of £4000 so it wouldnt be paid off before the BT offer runs out. I also called them to ask and they said they couldnt do it either0
