Help - have jammed daughter's phone in case!!
Options
Hello, hope someone can help me. Daughter has new LG Cookie phone. Bought a crystal case for her to protect it and now have phone stuck in case. Cannot get case off at all. Have tried squeezing it, poking it etc but all to no avail. Can anyone tell me how you get the thing off as hitting it with a hammer may not be the best option............. It would be funny if it wasn't so frustrating. Have emailed vendor but would like to get case off ASAP.
Here's hoping someone knows the magic answer..........

How did you manage to open the case and put the phone in? lol0

Hi. The case came in two parts which clipped/snapped together. Trying to reverse the process is getting me nowhere! If it was my phone - ancient Sharp brick - wouldn't be so worried. This is more excitement than I can take on a Saturday morning.
The daft thing is she wanted a silicon case which we ordered and this hard crystal one was only 99p more. I thought it would be useful when the phone needs more protection than a soft case. Stop me before I have any more bright ideas. On the other hand this case sure protects the phone.........:rolleyes:0 -
Maybe you could post an image of the phone with the case on...
Its likely you need to press more than one area simultaneously to release the case (thinking of ipod cases which usually have to be snapped open by pressing two areas)0 -
Hello. Yes, I'm guessing it is simply a question of squeezing/pressing the right combination but am running out of places to squeeze and press. I am going to threaten it with a screwdriver soon.
Apologies cannot post a photo at moment as cannot get to camera. Also forum will not let me post a link as I am a newish member.0 -
Its Saturday, pop down the local mobile shop and get someone to do it for you - hopefully wont charge anything - at least you wont damage it yourself.0

I think that may be the best plan - short of hurling it at the wall. It will have to wait until Monday though as I have a plumber in trying to finish a job before a German exchange student arrives next week.
We're trying a three person manoeuvre on it at the moment, so I shall leave you with that image. Technology 1 - Family 0!0 -

plumber, german exchange student, a camera phone - it sounds like a dodgey movie :cool::D:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:0 -
Pleased to report we have removed case!!!
I did attack it with a screwdriver in the end. You need to insert blade of fine screwdriver into each of the four clasps in turn and push down until they release with a click. It is a bit heart stopping wielding a screwdriver this close to a brand new phone but it did the trick. (Without the phone in the case you can undo it by squeezing the long sides together but not about to replace phone to see if it works with it in situ as it didn't seem to)
My best advise to anyone else is to stick with the soft cases for this model unless you want your precious phone enshrined in solid polywhatever indefinitely. It sure is tough though - not a mark on the case despite the abuse.
Thanks for all suggestions - off for a strong cup of tea and a lie down in a darkened room.
PS The silicon case fits perfectly and we reckon we can get it off without a hammer, blowtorch etc! :rotfl:
PPS hotkee, it is a good job that I didn't mention that the reason I couldn't get to my camera was because I had a plumber in my bedroom. Your imagination would really have gone into overdrive................0 -
Oh jackie, forgive me, I've got a horrible cold, headache and feel a bit down as just kissed DD goodbye as she heads off back to uni. Read your post and had a real laugh. I realise you didn't go through all that for my amusement but you have brightened up my day. I hope you feel better after the cuppa and lie down.Sell £1500

Lmao! Glad to hear that you've managed to remove it, but a plumber in the bedroom with your camera and a german exchange student....... :rotfl:0
