I have just received a new phone via Dail-a-phone based on a £30 p/m tariff with a 8 month 1/2 price line rental (by redemption) and have read the paperwork. It indicates I make 4 claims over the life of the contract. £22.50 at month 6 and £32.50 at month 10, 14, 18.

Not exactly the £15 p/m for 8 month as advertised.

What is your experience with these type of deals.

But effectively, it is! Once you've claimed your cashback, you've got a deal for £15 for 8 months while paying £30 for the remaining 10 months.

I had one of these with CPW and it worked ok. I got it all back. With Dial-a-Phone, just remember to cancel the insurance before the first month is up if you don't want it! It will add a whooping amount to your bill every month if you don't!

Yes, it is. These third party internet companies always pull these cashback deals to lower the overall costs. I would be very surprised if it was stated rather obviously that cashback applied when you took out the contract, though I can't claim that for definite given the large number of sites that you can access their information from.

Personally I wouldn't touch these deals, because there are an awful lot of stories flying around about cashback being delayed or not arriving. These companies as a whole are not known for their reliability and efficient service. But equally there are those who have taken out these contracts and had no issues, which are no doubt in the majority, so with any luck you won't have any issues.
