i like this phone. It meets my needs which are..... good size screen - show internet & watch tv, keyboard - as I qwerty type very fast, good camera & video- capture moments with kids. I liked the iphone; but as it did not have a keyboard I would not be able to type fast enough on it.

Any phone network doing a deal on this phone?

Have seen this on the Tesco Contract mobile website where the phone is available for free with O2 or Orange contracts. Dialaphone has this with Vodafone. Neither of the contracts seem cheap though

Been on their website and it looks like they only do 18 months and 24 month now? And on that tariff the phone would cost about £150. Yikes!! Simplicity for me when my contract ends! £15 a month... 300 mins + 600 texts. I'll keep my P1i as long as it keeps going. It's the best phone I have ever had.

I am on my second 12 monther deal with o2, they offered 18 monther when I renewed last year, I insisted on 12 month only and got it paying £30 a month for n95 8 gig free (200 mins, 250 texts I think).

I am keen on the Sony X1 now - if they offer me £30 a month for 12 months, I would take that. Incidently when you look on the upgrade pages on o2 for your own mobile, they have this thing "upgrade credit", think mine is £150 (guess that means they give me a £150 discount if I upgrade???)

I emailed Sony about your fault and this is what they said about it.
Thank you for your query regarding the Sony Ericsson X1.

As this is not a fault on the handset we will be unable to resolve the issue. If the X1 is connecting to the internet it is due to an application on the handset requesting access to the internet.
