Sounds like the buyer is trying to get his money back and keep the laptop (SCAM).

How did the buyer pay? If it was Paypal, has the buyer instigated a chargeback? If so you could use the offensive emails against them and also report them to the buyers isp/email provider who will probably cancel their services.

Hope some of that helps. I'm sure others will be along to offer you more help.

Sorry just reread your post. If the buyer started a chargeback but then closed it upon delivery of the laptop then they cannot claim their money back through paypal.

You might want to check out the eBay discussion forum as the buyer in question has posted on there.

Inform eBay - this is known as auction interference & they should give him a warning to stop him continuing.

Were all the payments from the same paypal account? Also what was the buyers feedback record like?, Was there any signs of this kind of activity before?

As the buyer has already put a claim in through PayPal and it has been closed they cannot start another one so you will not lose your money this way. The only way he could get it back was if he paid through credit card. The worse that could happen is that he gives you negative feedback.

How do you know they are sweden? Have i missed something

Hang on, having read the board on ebay i am a little skeptical as to what i think. You do not have very good feedback regarding sending items out. You also should have given them the tracking number. Why did you delay sending for 1 week?

This is the ebay board. This is the reason i have come to my conclusions. I am sorry if i am wrong.

Oh, Ollie, you must be psychic, the buyer is in Sweden. :rotfl:

Your feedback seems familiar, i have read it before but i can't think of why.

I too had a look at the 'other' side of the story. The seller does seem to have problems with laptops, even some of the positives are actually negatives if you read them. Also it is quite telling that if you seperate the feedback out between that received from sellers and that received from buyers, it seems the OP is a good buyer but possibly less so as a seller.

Personally I think the buyer was foolish to buy such a high priced item from a seller with that feedback, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. I see now that the police are involved, whilst our own police force would almost certainly not get involved I understand that the Swedish force is more accomodating.

It is probably best left to the authorities to sort this one out but I can't honestly see that the buyer can do much as how can they tell if a brick was sent,, or substituted later by the buyer.
