This is the first time I have seen this thread - hey, it's great being so nosey!!!!
Pity I missed it first time round, as there are a few pictures no longer available!
Moggins, I didn't get to see your kitchen.
It has taken me so long to trawl through 12 pages when I should be getting on with something else there isn't time to take a pic of mine at the mo, but will try later on.0 -
I've really enjoyed looking at everyone's kitchens too. You can tell so much about people from a couple of photos! I'll try and post a photo of mine tomorrow, it'll take a while to make it presentableOfficial DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

Thanks, moggins!
Your kitchen looks like a proper "lived in" kitchen!!!!
(that's meant to be a compliment by the way!)

I think my kitchen must rival black saturns for the smallest! It was meant to be temporary while we converted the coal store / outside loo into a bigger kitchen, but it has stayed this way for going on two years.
The worst thing is the lack of workspace - I only have the area in front of the kettle and the small bit by the dish drainer. The Kenwood and BM live on top of the fridge ATM but when in use, take up all the workspace.
I do have a small pantry to store all the food.
I am used to my kitchen and find it kind of cozy, but other people who've seen it have been really horrified. Look at the size of my oven in comparison to the teapot sitting on top of it!!;):happylove0 -
I have just come across this thread today, some of these kitchens are really lovely. I do think that i would win the award for the worlds worst kitchen. We moved into our "home" April 05. Its a flat roof semi-detached bungalow, 2 bedrooms and tiny. Our kitchen is bigger than the bedrooms! We found that we had wet rot so had to rip up half the floor boards in every room for the joists to be replaced. This happened last August, unfortunately we had to rip out our kitchen and our bathroom (it wasnt much to shout about, it would have been replaced anyway). Thing is our windows are falling to pieces so all the walls were soaked, so we ripped off the plasterboard and now we have some exposed brickwork in kitchen and bathroom.
When we first ripped out the kitchen all we had was a tap coming up from the floor, we had to wash everything in a bucket, no sink! We have improvised a little and stole a bit of worktop and a table from SIL, bought a cheap sink. Also bought a cheap toilet and basin for the bathroom (yes we have no bath or shower).
Our kitchen is a complete and utter mess, we were able to keep the wall units so we have a little storage but not enough to harbour all of our kitchen stuff, we have 3 huge boxes from the kitchen in storage. I also have the largest pile of laundry that anyone has seen hidden in the corner beside my fridge.
We have been like this for a year now and its not nice and you lot have made me so jealous lol.
We have a brand spanky new MFI kitchen in storage at MIL's but we have to wait for a building warrant. We need a new roof so we will be putting on a pitched roof with the neighbours and putting a room up there so we can't do anything to the rest of the house until it is done as every wall needs ripped out.
Sorry for rabbiting on... i had a virus in my comp which destroyed most of my photos so i dont have any of my kitchen at the moment but i will get round to taking some later and will post them.A banker is someone who lends you an umbrella when the sun is shining, and who asks for it back when it start to rain.0 -
