Smiley_Mum wrote:I did the same with my new fridge freezer. On the old second hand one I had a big blob of blue tack on the corner of the door handle so that it wouldn't dent if it knocked the side of it as the door opens into the side of it. I had the second hand one for 4 years until it packed up, no dents with the blue tack trick. I had the new one installed and the guy was just driving away with the old one and the ironing board fell against the door and put a huge dent in the side of it. I was soooooooo annoyed with myself. Still bugs me seeing it, it had barely been in the house an hour. :-(
Just a thought - if you have accidental cover on your house contents insurance would this be covered? worth a look to check?0 -
trigger_mike wrote:This is a cracking thread some of you have such nice kitchens, really like the dark tiled flooring, ours has laminate floor and it's horrible, always looks manky!
It is nice having a slate floor but it shows the dust. I have to sweep it everyday.0 -
Hi Guys
You can see my whole house here (If the link works) as I currenly have it up for sale. Actually I would be really interested in people's comments on it as we have only had 1 viewing in 3 weeks...they did buy the house mind you, but then their buyers fell through! Does anyone have any suggestions on anything that could be putting people off?

Thanks for that. I do have accidental cover on my insurance due to the kids etc, handy to have. The fridge/freezer cost me £290 if my memory serves me right. Have made two claims since 2001, one for flooding out by neighbour and one for busted laptop. Haven't made any claims since 2003, so wonder whether it would affect risk rating etc with insurers or not. Don't think so?It's not major, doesn't affect the running of it, just annoying to see it.

ocemeer - I love your kitchen. And I would love a huge range cooker - but wouldn't be practical in my kitchen.
Actually - I'd love a big victorian house with an aga (and a modern oven too) We can all dream, can't we ...... wanders away day-dreaming.......

The kitchen was a dark green melanime when we moved in so we painted the units in a cream eggshell and replaced the worktops, handles, tiles and flooring. All done on a budget!
The Slowcooker, etc are in cupboards and yes I did tidy before I took the photos.

Is that a balloon I see under the table in the dining room...“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0 -
yes, it is a balloon. Bought a huge bag of balloons ages ago. It's amazing a house full of toys and they're bored, blow up a few balloons and hey presto instant fun!!!0
