location of oil filter on my diesel engine

i just can't locate the oil filter on my diesel engine - can anyone give me any tips on where it would be?

Oil not fuel.
The oil filter will be attached somewhere to the cylinder block, probably the front (or left or right if rear wheel drive) and should be a very obvious cylindrical protrusion much like the spare you have to replace it with0 -

I used to have an old Nissan, that was a right !!!!!! to get to the oil filter - not visible at all from above, and very fiddly to access from beneath.
Your best bet is the Haynes manual - worth buying if you intend doing a fair amount of maintenance on the car yourself, or ask your local library to get a copy for you to borrow if it's just a one-off.0
