On March 31st I sold a CD and sent out an invoice about an hour later. I heard nothing from the buyer - no payment and no e-mails, even after I sent polite messages asking if everything was okay. Just over a week later I opened a dispute and again got absolutely nothing from the buyer. Consequently I closed the dispute yesterday after the 8 days. This morning the buyer has sent me a paypal payment and has offered no explanation for what has gone on. Also in the selling reminders section on e-bay it now says I need to post this item - I thought ending the dispute would bring things to a conclusion?! Where do I stand with e-bay - my FVFs are returned but there is now a reminder to send the item! I am very wary about sending the item to the buyer now - can anyone offer any advice?
Thanks,
Pete

Pete

If you don't want to sell to them, refund and add note 'item no longer available' They are only in touch as a strike has probably been issued. May want to pay now so they can leave feedback. If you refund them, they can't.
I'd refund, block and relist, personally
Ebay can't make you sell and the posting reminder will likely disappear when you refund.

I'm with Fern, refund payment with the explanation transaction cancelled and ignore anything further from the buyer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If he has paid he can get the strike removed and fvf reversed by sending a copy of the paypal payment email to Ebay:mad:0

Well I was all set to refund until I read the last reply! It seems clear to me that they have only paid because they've received a strike and I really don't want any more to do with this buyer tbh. I guess if I did end up posting they will neg me for the hell of it even though they have messed me around for over a fortnight. I honestly thought that once the dispute was closed that was it, but obviously not...
Many thanks for the help.0 -

Exact same thing happened to me last week - although I had the strike reinstated after speaking to an account manager.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Then you appeal and explain buyer only paid after the NPB dispute was closed. if you send it now you will have to remove the strike, which leaves you open to a neg from the buyer, plus items have a horrible habit of 'going astray' in these circumstances leaving you open to a chargeback.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hmmm...
You have received payment for the item, then why not send it out? There may be a reasonable explanation for the buyer not being in touch: holiday, computer breakdown, or just simply forgotten!!Profit=sanity
Turnover=vanity
Greed=inhumanity:dance:0 -
i would send the CD, wait until they confirm receipt and leave feedback and then remove the strike, you have after all had payment and as underlay_guru states there could be a very good reason why they havent paid and couldnt contact you. Surely all that matters is you have now had payment and you dont have the hassle of relisting!0

In my case, I sent a second chance offer, and it was purchased, sent and feedback left before the payment from the original timewaster came through.
Besides, items posted after a dispute have a nasty habit of "going missing". My "buyer" did not communicate at all - bid, nothing for nearly 4 weeks, then a payment. Not a reason or even an excuse as to why they have taken so long to pay, but quick enough to apply for the strike to be removed.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
I suppose it wouldn't hurt to send it. The real downer from my point of view is that this is the first thing I have sold in about 4 years + want to sell a few more items. So if I do get a neg it will look a bit dodgy on my first sale in years! OK, I agree buyer may have gone on holiday etc but why not a simple reply - they must have now read the e-mails I sent over the past few weeks? BTW underlay guru - you shouldn't have edited your post - the first one was an enjoyable rant:T
Cheers again.......0
