Just because they check, does not mean that it cannot include you! They just need to know everything about you (unless it also says no BRs or debtors!)
Exactly.
The credit checking is part of the procedure they go through to check out your finances if you have to go through 'Developed Vetting'.
Put it this way, they are going to reluctant to take on someone who is in deep financial trouble and/or hiding things.
Being in debt is not the problem, but someone who has major problems could be more susceptible to bribery or other influences.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

The amusing thing is with the vetting, surely BRs would be good to take on as they no longer have debts (unlike many other people). I was thinking about this just the other day - I have no intention of taking credit again, certainly not as I had previously, so I would not be interested in bribery at all.“I contend that we are both atheists. We often debate this point, TK. Certainly in my opinion, the points you raise are extremely valid. Unfortunately, in the case of jobseeking, my opinion counts for nothing.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I'd make a terrible spy anyway. My GF tells me she knows exactly what to do to get me to talk"What does not kill you makes you stronger"0

I completed an application for a job a few days ago that asked whether I was an undischarged bankrupt. I'm not sure of the relevance as to whether or not I can use a telephone to speak to people though... It seems ironic that the lower the position I apply for the longer the application process - This one in particular paid just over £7 an hour and had 17 pages of application! If I apply for a CEO or MD job I simply send a CV...“I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do.
