Three Mobile Contract T & C

Options
Hi everyone this is my first post use the site daily but never got round to the forums! lol

My problem is this i rang three as i started to notice that my download allowance went from £5.00 to £4.89 on there service ! What they are saying to me is that they changed the vat to the 15% its at now so items on the service e.g ringtones and so on have gone down with the vat being lowered so they lowered the allowance! Surely the allowance should not be affected! only the bill and there items!

Does this break my contract T & C as when i took this out i was getting!

400 Mins
250 Text
£5.00 Download allowance!
25 messages

They also said a text message was sent out which neither of my phones have received !

what do you think

Sounds ok to say £5.00 is affectively £4.89 since the product you might have bought (say a game) would cost you a little less with the VAT cut.

So imho, it does not break T&C and would think Three know full well it doesnt before they make such a change.
  • Even if there has been the vat cut with there products surely that should not effect my £5 download allowance!

Well it hasnt affected your allowance in the sense you can get the same amount of things as you did before - as you just pay less VAT but its calculated before you buy rather than after (in which case Three would have been losing money themselves).

Had they put up prices to offset the VAT reduction - then people would complain - so you cant win.

Anything to do with tax is excluded from the T&C's because the provider has no control over it.
If the government made VAT 25% you couldn't exit your contract due to the price rise as the network didn't change it the government did.

On the 'check my usage' screen it quite clearly states that you will be billed the correct price. A game which is £5.00 will only show as £4.89 on your bill. You have not lost out :)

I trust you will not be ringing them to mention that your line rental is also slightly cheaper than your contract says?
