    I did not make a mistake a group of us going away i booked everyones flight and one person pulled out due to personal reasons, she was prepaired to loose the money but we got someone to replace her. we thought it was £30 for change plus increase in fare did not know it was £30 each way. Thought i was doing the person a favour trying to get a least some money back .

    I have a flight which I can't take anymore nor for a foreseeable future.
    Anyone would advise doing something else but write it off?

    Assuming this is an Easyjet flight you can reclaim the APD from them. If the reason you cannot travel is covered by your travel insurance you would claim the remainder from them

    but spelling the name is vital you see, cos now you're really …........
