Easyjet name change

Hi All.

I Booked a flight for my family with easyjet for the summer and when i went to input the extra information a month later, i noticed the surname for my son was wrong, when i tried to change the name online it said it was going to charge me £95 for the change, they broke it down the following way: name change (2x£22.50) = £45 increase in fare =£50 total £95.

I want to know why they are charging me 2x£22.50 as i am only changing one surname, and is there any way of not paying this charge.

Thanks in advance

Mark

I'd phone them and say you've made a typo on the surname - they'll (probably) change it for free..

The costs you're looking at are for proper name (person) changes.. and they're costed per leg.

If you had entered the names online then its your mistake, if it was a booking made over the phone then you may have an argument

The charge the 22.50 per sector, and the difference in fare. If the fare goes up again the charge will be higher

I would change it sooner rather than later, you may find your going to pay alot more the longer you leave it

    Thanks

If the mistake is just a typo ring up again and see if you get someone more sympathetic. If it's completely the wrong surname you will in all likelihood have to pay up. It will be cheaper to do the alteration yourself on-line.

Because you have an outbound and inbound flight, and the names must match on both,

the additional £50 is the difference in the cost of flight from when you booked to now.

I would advise you to ring up and change the name and pay the price now as the flight price can increase whilst your waiting.

The main thing to consider here is, is it (a) a typo and (b) a different name. If its the former they will probably do it FOC, if its the latter you have to pay the fee. This is to stop people buying up loads of cheap tickets and then selling them at the higher price just by phoning and getting the name changed FOC.

    1) it isn't a name change - it's a passenger change
    2) many airlines don't allow passenger changes at all - so you would have lost that ticket and had to buy a totally new one.
    3) they charge so much to discourage people buying cheap tickets and selling them on.
