I'm assuming the bike was stolen, if thats the case the Insurers of the bike would normally be liable for damage the thief or joyrider does whilst riding it

i had a hit and run by a ride on mower damaged the front of my van ,the accident was seen and witnessed by 3 people but when i caught up with him he admits cutting the lawn but not too hitting my van ,reported it too police but takes them 3 weeks to get started they refused to come out on day of accident so now their insureres are denying liability so looks like a court case just because of some guttless !!!!!

Why not let the insurance company write-off the car and buy it off them? They will sell it to you at a heavy discount, so you could end up with a cheque (for the difference between the book value and what they sell it to you for) which will pay for the repairs, so you may not end up out of pocket.

Obviously check what they're offering you and do your sums to check it's worthwhile doing this, as you'll have an excess to pay and it will result in a claim which may affect future insurance premiums.

If someone got the registration number it could be possible to claim off the motorcycle insurer
