Easy to understand DOS book

Hello all, my problem is this, at the moment I’m currently studying my A+ exams and I have already got two books to study from but I have just been into the company with whom I am doing A+ for some in centre training, I was ok on most of it up till I got to the DOS part so I was wondering if anyone could recommend anywhere I could get a free PDF/E-book download for DOS, alternatively if there are no free ones are there and reasonably priced ones that can help me, also the easier the book or material would be a great help. Yes I know I’m probably looking for the impossible wanting a simple book but what I mean is something similar to the dummies books where it’s explained a little simpler. Thank you

You may have more luck on the web.
Lots of stuff out there - and not just in black and white! ;)

Which dos commands are they teaching? There is plenty of free stuff on the web, not that you are likely to use it very often in the real world

I am in the real world, and I use it much of the day... Even on Windows Server 2003 R2, and not just for scheduled tasks.

the DOS questions in A+ exam are random so i want to have a good knowledge of it all for my own piece of mind although the exam will only ask certain questions its just good to know so i can handle anything they throw at me.

  • Are you sure it DOS you need to know, it is obsolete since Windows XP. Is it not the Windows command line you need to know? 64 bit versions of Windows have no support for DOS programs.
