before i bought my last phone from osps i called up to check if i can downgrade after 6 months and still get my cashback - i have actually called them just to ask this question many times - i was assured that it was ok.
the t and c's on the website certainly seemed to indicate that it was ok.

however when i called today i was told that they have verified with the networks and that you can only upgrade not downgrade.

this is definately a change as he told me that this was only recently clarified.

i asked him how they can change the terms and he just kept repeating the same lines about how the networks had clarified this in the last month - to be honest i had found him very pleasant and easy to deal with up till this point - obviously this guy on the phone is no hepl.

any idea of what can be done as surely they cant change the terms in the middle.

    Did you keep a copy of the original terms ? a screen shot or print out ?.

    If you did then you could take this further, but if you didn't then i'm sure it'll say in their terms that they can and will alter the terms from time to time at their own discretion.

    Contracts vary from network to network but some say if they change the terms and you are not happy then you can do ______, but like i say it is different on different networks.

    these terms are not the networks terms, the network allows you to downgrade it is the retailer who says you cant.
    this is for two reasons;
    a) a reason not to pay cashback
    b) they could loose their commmison from the network.

    thanks for your advice but surely if they admit that this is a change in the last month or so then i dont need a screenshot -which i doint have
