I'm a prepay customer and I've had other issues with staff making mistakes. I asked for £15 on each of a card and key. They did two transactions of £15 but both on the card. I didn't find out till I got home - therefore lots of gas but no electricity for me! The girls were too busy chatting about their plans for the evening to pay any attention to the difference between a card and a blue key
I rang them to tell them what they did and ask what would have happened if it was my last £30 and I had no more money to put more on my key? Er um, we'd have to tell you to see the manager... she's only in on a tuesday afternoon.
Well thanks, that would have left me with almost a week with no lights, tv, kettle, cooker - and no heating anyway since the timer etc needs electricity  And I'd have needed to take a day off work just to try and see the manager to get it sorted.
Thankfully it wasn't so close to the end of the month to cause a problem - but could easily have been.
Since then I carefully check my receipts every time, before I leave the shop.0 -

Ok. Unfortunate and you know he knows that you know what happened....
He will probably keep coming back hoping that you will do it again!
Shame though.0 -
hi there, that was terrible, if you had come into my shop any of us there would have put it on for you and you pay it back the next time it was due to be topped up. we are really nice staff where i work and we go out of our way to help people out, sorry that happened to you as we are not all like that
Thanks, it's good to know that there are places that would do that. I use another paypoint shop now
To be honest, if I had budgeted and planned for a trip to the seaside and not budgeted for a £60 extra on the gas card, I wouldn't have sacrificed my planned trip for someone else's mistake. But I certainly would pay it off in the manner I had promised.
Perhaps give them a few more days - maybe they are waiting for payday? I think benefits get paid early over bank holiday weekends, maybe they're waiting for the next payment to come in?
If they did realise what had happened and not intended to pay anything, surely they wouldn't have risked come back into the same shop? The fact that they said they would pay it off albeit at a slow rate surely must mean something? (unless of course they are now avoiding the shop completely).working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Amersall - you are NOT 'far too honest for your own good' - you can sleep nights. You have integrity.
Karma....
Well done you for handing the £300 in.
