My sisters wedding was really lovely in the end, It was 5 years ago now. Aat first you could sense a bit of an atmosphere with our dad and stepdad, especially during the photgraphs, but at the reception as the drinks started flow they began to talk and shake hands and are now quite friendly with each other, It was a shame it took after the wedding to realsie they had no reason to be in competition with each other.

Luckily for me, now, I have an easy choice of asking my dad. It is just an akward situation to be in.

Funnily enough though, when me and h2b were talking about marriage a few years ago, i said my future father in law would walk me down the aisle, as i was so close to him, but he died last year so that isnt an option now.

My mum is giving me away. And I'm givng my sister away at her wedding. You dont need a male to do the giving away!

yep my sister was married before and my mum gave her away.

Also if your brother is 14 he'd be fione to walk you doen the aisle if you want a male to do it. Folk on here have had their 5 yo sons walking them down the aisle which I think is just the cutest.

I do really symapthise with you though. I ahve been puttign it off for weeks but on Monday i sent an email to my dad to tell him he's not invited to mine. (personal issues that I'd rather not go into) I felt terrible doing it even though we aren't particularly close but at one point I was thinking I'd rather elope than hurt anyones feelings, and then I realised actually i do want to celebrate the day so I just need to make a decision and stick to it but it really puts you on the back foot doesn't it.. ahveing to worry about all these things ehn its meant to be exciting.

I refused to do any table plan leaving everyone other than the top table to sit where they'd like ;)

I'm desparate to do that.. but H2B thinks it will cause fights. So guess who has to do the table plan

I always thought that table planning would be worse, coz ppl might be sat with ppl they dont really wanna be sat with, and if ppl can sit where they like, they have the choice to sit with who they want to. My bridezilla friend i mentioned earlier, lol, did table plan, me and oh had to sit with ppl we didnt know, her auntie was upset as she had to sit separate to rest of her family, the rest had a table close to bridezilla......think of the stress!

Thank you soooo much everyone for your advice and feedback, really appreciate it. Trying to put the dad situation to back of my head, and look forward to meeting my h2b at the end! Cant wait!
