Credit Card fraud connected to Forbidden Planet International
I placed an order back in january-yet from 11/04/09-14/04/09
6 transactions where made on my card for over £300
My brother also placed an order on this site in march and had a fraudulent transaction made on his card this month also for over £700.
We have both had to cancel our cards and are awaiting re issue ones!
Too much of a coincidence.... google and you will find gamingtavern.eu confirms other instances!
A warning..if any of you used this site ever check your card statements for anomalies.

In reponse to the last post: the fraudsters.... test the card for up to 4 days in a row first with small amounts before they use it for big purchases. Having finally got through to forbiddenplanet.co.uk they are aware of the issue and quoted 'anyone who used their website in the past 2 years online should check with their card providers if there has been any suspicious activity-rather than wait for the statement to come in the post!0

MAJOR FRAUD ON FP ORDERS!
Apr 14, 2009 at 11:50 AM Major news is hitting collectors everywhere, particularly with the new exclusive figures.
It can be presumed that many probably haven’t realised or posted on the internet yet, since late March to April, strange payments have been appearing on their credit cards.
This could be a couple of pennies or pounds, known as ‘tester amounts’ up to larger payments. Many of these have been associated with mobile phone companies, most commonly O2, even if the people receiving the bills have no connection to the companies.
Almost every incident can be partly traced to Forbidden Planet International – that’s the .co.uk website – and it seems an odd coincidence that this is the case. However, so far, no official word has come from FP International. In recent days, however, it seems some payments through the .com website have had problems as well. What is more worrying is that fraud is hitting people who ordered as much as two years ago from these companies.
Therefore the best advice is to stay away from these sites, especially if you have a new card, until the problem is cleared, you can check here and I’ll let you know as soon as it is, and if you have bought anything (such as the exclusives…) just go through your bills meticulously and make sure absolutely nothing gets through. If it does contact your bank immediately.
And here's a couple more instances...

Forbidden Planet dot com and Forbidden Planet dot co dot uk are two separate companies.
We were contacted by several of our customers recently with regards to a possible security breach on our website.
Forbidden Planet dot com have conducted a thorough assessment of our website, shopping basket and internal systems and have found no evidence of any security issues. We would like to assure our customers that our site is secure and that their details are at no risk of exposure.
Should any customers need to update their card details we advise them to use the secure login on our website w w w dot Forbidden Planet dot com or to call our customer services team directly. Please be advised that you should never send credit or debit card numbers via email as this is not a secure method with which to update your details.
We treat our customers privacy and security as our top concern and will continue to closely monitor all online transactions for any risk of card fraud.

Apologies for having had to spell out the dots and coms - it seems new users are unable to post links on this forum.0 -
Just found out my credit card has been suspended due to suspected fraud. Bought from Forbidden planet 6 months ago and one of the fraudulent transactions was for O2 which has been mentioned a lot in connection. Egg were very quick in spotting it.0

This is becoming increasingly common.
I knew someone who had their shopping cart hacked and when people put in their credit card details, it silently emailed them off to a strange email address.
Scary stuff!0 -
I feel so bad! There were some incidences of fraud with my debit card last month and I was blaming a little restaurant in Edinburgh as it was the only place I'd used my card since Christmas - even gave their name to the police!
Now I go back and check my bank statement I ordered something from Forbidden planet last November - surely can't be a coincidence.0 -
Fraud is still on-going @FP and yes they are all part of one large UK-based chain. In early June my CC was hit >300 pounds by a bogus Tesco's online home delivery. Some POS called 'Karen,' ordered groceries & smokes for home delivery in the UK. I live in Canada so I sure as heck know it wasn't me. This is not a firewall issue with the order form software. Rather it is some thief @ FP copying & pasting email and CC details into their browser then using them to start bogus online accounts. They will be caught that's how it works with a thief - steal until you're caught, loser.
In the meantime do not do any CC business with any FP. Management are delusional the thief is one of their own staff. Likely a strong personality in denial.0 -
Sorry to resurrect an old thread here but I made a purchase earlier this month through Forbidden Planet dot co dot uk and have just had my card suspended due to potential fraudulent activity. Thankfully the CC provider was very quick to spot but I will not be using them again as it seems like far too much of a coincidence.
