Orange Contract

Options
Unfortunately my son has upgraded my account and agreed to an 18 month extension without my permission, this was done by setting up security questions and then answering correctly.

This occured in January and after many calls have been advised only possible option is to make claim to Orange fraud department which needs crime number which means reporting son to police for fraud.

Does anybody have any advice or have had similar experience I want to cancel contract

Thanks

If it was over the phone then you have 14 days under DSR to cancel, After that, You are stuck with the contract

How old is your Son? Make him pay for it!! If he is a minor I would think they could not enforce it as it is not fraud but just a child who no authority to change a contract. But you would need to check that with someone with knowledge of contractual law.

The contracts not in his name, Its in the name of someone over the age of 18, If he answered the security questions then he could upgrade/renew it.

But why did your son do it? Was he having a laugh or he meant to upset you?
Is he generally like this and full of mischief? If so, you should be worried that he might mess up bigger stuff like banks very shortly

The info you've been given is correct. If you want Orange (or any network) to take a fraud issue seriously you have to too. This means reporting it to the police. Once you have a crime number it will be looked into.
I work in the fraud dept of one of the networks, this is standard practice.

Depends on how old he is.
If he's under 18 there's not a lot anyone can do, the police may very well bring him in and give him a good talking to.

If he's over 18 and it can be proved he accessed your account with out your permission (which is the bit the fraud dept do), it would get passed to the police [FONT=&quot]liaison section and they and the police would decide how to proceed.

I can tell you that both the police and the networks take breaches of the data protection act very seriously, we have to it's a legal requirement under the act.

I don't understand this!! I have been with Orange, Vodaphone and T-mobile and everytime I have renewed my contract or changed anything to do with my contract either over the phone or on-line I have received written notification and even a contract renewal agreement to sign?

renewed my T-mobile contract last Friday and got the new contract to sign Wednesday!! Does no-one else get this then????
