receiving overseas calls? charges?
Options
If a British registered phone recieves a call from another country (whilst the phone is in the UK) is there a charge to the British phone account?
Take the phone out of the UK and it receives a call from any country including the UK there is a charge to the British phones account,,,, yes? Called a roaming charge, right? Anywhere I can view those charges for Orange UK customers?
Would the same charging structure apply to a French registered Orange phone? i.e. if I phone someone in France on a French registered Orange phone there might not be any charge for that account to recieve the call? And this would be a way to defeat the roaming charges of taking your British phone to France???
Cheers.

UK mobiles don't have mobile party pays (such as in America) so if it's a uk mobile being used in the uk then regardless of where the ic call comes from the called party will not be charged.
If a french mobile user receives a call and they are in France then they won't be charged for the ic call
Orange list France as a favourite country for roaming

Thanks for your reply.
I'll get a PAYG French phone (just a sim will do) for use in France.
Looking at those roaming charges, I'm shocked they are so high, and this is presumably after they were forced to lower the charges by the European Commission!
Europe 1 - 18.5p min
USA - 55p0 -
it's a lot lower than it used to be in the eu!
I tend to use o2 my europe extra when I go on holiday (£10 a month) and you don't pay to receive ic calls (1000 min limit)

My daughters boyfriend has a French mobile and he is charged for incoming calls from the UK
I will feedback when I find out if this happens in my case. Hopefully know more after this weekend.
Anyone know Orange Mobile (France) the number to dial to check the credit balance? In UK it is 453 and I know using 453 in France on a British Orange phone works in France, but need to know what the number is for French Orange account phones? Thanks.0
