Yeah, but I'm rubbish at crafy things:o0 -
I'm so glad Martin is leaving things as they are. I was fearful for what would happen to my favourite thread 'Five Old Style pleasures in your life today' which covers all aspects of domesticity and daily life and helps a lot of peeps to cling on to the nitty gritty.

What I would suggest on this front is that maybe we could do with one or two more Board Guides on Old Style - as there is rather more "work" involved in this than there was - due to the increasing number of queries coming into it in the current Economic Climate.
It is very often the case that people put in queries about some particular aspect of Old Style that has been already covered in a previous thread - with an extra Board Guide or two to allow for this extra "work" then these "duplicate" queries would be "blended in" to the appropriate existing thread more quickly and reduce a bit the number of apparent topics coming up.
I think that could be the way to go myself - having noticed that in recent months many more queries per day are coming in and something that would have remained "front page" for a couple of days a year or so back is now rolling back to a couple of pages back in a matter of hours.0 -

I'm glad that there are no plans to change the Old Style board for now.
Ceridwen, I agree with you that there have been more and more ''duplicate queries'' on the board lately. Penny and I as board guides are stuck between a rock and a hard place on this one.
We try to accomodate most people's opinions on how Old Style should be run Some people, like you, think there should be more merging of threads and others repeatedly criticise us for merging and linking to older threads. It really is impossible to please all of the people all of the time and Penny and I do our best to find a middle ground that will be acceptable to the majority. However, unfortunately we are never going to be able to please everyone who reads/posts on the board and I doubt if an extra board guide would change that situation.
Having said that, if the team decide to add another bg it would free up some time for us and they would be welcomed with open arms...the more the merrier I say!

I like the board the way it is.
There are duplicates around and I think the guides do a great job to merge as much as they can (yes there are those who want their own thread or don't want to read through other thread, have even been gulty of the later myself lol).
There are lots of varied boards already imho.
