i agree AD - none of these forecasts give you 100% correct information.
i wouldn't take anything from them as gospel.
i'm only bantering with Luvpump that he was quoting them not long ago and now saying the opposite that they have a vested interest.
none of us really know what's going to happen0 -
When they say 'growing at the fastest pace since 2003', do they mean in % terms?
If I had a penny in my pocket and found 10p, I could probably say I have become richer at the fastest pace ever in my life. I wish they would seasonally adjust these figures and refrain from the positive spin.0 -

That is the funniest, and probably the most correct statement I have read today, excellent to have put it so succinctly.0 -
After the unmitigated disaster for the housing market that was 2008, it would be quite extraordinary if there were no positive signs at this, the most bullish phase of the annual housing market cycle. As has been pointed out, despite the vast amounts of taxpayer cash that is being pumped into the banks, lending has not exactly taken off and is still way down on what it was at the bubble's peak.
I have seen a few houses in this area (northern England) go to under offer or SSTC recently, but quite a lot of previous SSTC ones have fallen through and even more have been reduced. A few have even gone up.

I've seen loads of SSTC go belly up. But here is one example of a price increase followed by a sale, mind you the price increase was on the same day as the sale. And it still has not appeared on house prices.

another price increase from the same EA
