They're all at it.
http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/mortgages/house-prices/article.html?in_article_id=482591&in_page_id=57&ito=1723I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0 -
I have just posted on another thread that approvals for Feb were 24300 against a February average of 76,000 (2002-2007). This would suggest that c50,000 people per month are not buying at the moment that would have done in the past. There has to come a point when the figures improve and the backlog of potential purchasers come out of the woodwork. The figures are a long long way from stabilising prices IMO.0

In 2007 they stated that in 2008 prices would not fall.

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - The UK housing market could experience some near term weakness, but house prices should remain broadly unchanged next year, according to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
In its forecast for the housing market for 2008, the industry association said any falls in house prices are unlikely to persist in duration.
Why, now, are we supposed to take what they say as correct?!
with all due respect Graham - and it's not really directed at you but the same RICS reports over the last 18 months were taken as gospel and solid information by many HPCers.
however now it's not good enough. how come?0 -

It's like the Halifax Index. When they reported a rise in Jan, Halifax got slated as being liars trying to ramp up the market. Last month however they are taken as gospel. :rotfl:0 -
I think a lot of people are getting a bit nervous in the last few weeks.
I popped over to HPC yesterday evening (not that I go there often) and all this recent news means it's 'brown trousers time' for all the minimum wage losers trying to get a house 70% cheaper.
LOL, I've been over there a few times, although their are quite a few knowledgable posters there, I do see a little 'brown trousering' going on, they shouldn't worry, 70% is of course fanciful but this current situation will come and go many times in the future.
It's Spring don't forget, it's all so predictable, it happened last year and happened many, many times in the 90's. I mean when you see a headline that says 'House prices should stablise this year another 10% down':rotfl:, you know there is a whiff of desperation in the air.0 -

And it's that kind of attitude that really gets my back up from landlords such as yourself.
You call them losers, then feed off them for your own taking.
It's for this reason your so desperate "they" don't win, because that means, you will have lost.0 -

Graham - sorry to say but not everyone that disagrees with your opinion is a BTL scum landlord. i think Dan owns and lives in his own home
i own a few BTLs and don't have any issue with you taking grievance against anything i say due to your anti-BTL tinted glasses...

Yep, and if they post a rise next month, they will be liars again.:D Seriously though has anyone been looking on Righmove or the other sites and seen any actual rises in property that have subsequently turned in to SSTC and the appeared on the Land Registry ?, I can honestly say within 3 miles from me I have not seen any such sale for more than 18 months.0 -

Firstly, Im not a landlord.
Secondaly, I don't believe thats someone who earns such a low wage should have the automatic right to buy a house. So when they bang on that that house prices should fall within their price range gets my back up.0
