  • Hi Catherine,

Glad to hear things are ok - I feel like banging my head against a wall today - my boss is in a very strange mood, I can feel the tension in the air...
So glad Chester Zoo was good, I've never been there, went to San Diego zoo over the summer though and loved it. The fact that your trip was free is also great, my relativesgave me some money at Easter which I saved to pay for last nights haircut and colour (my friend works for Toni and Guy but does my hair at home) so that was money well spent!

Hope all your other money saving is going well! Tuna salad by the way, was a huge thumbs down. By the time I got to work all the salad was sogy and the lives toasted weird - I had to go to Greggs in the end! Sad times!

  • Well alot alot alot has happened since I last wrote.

I have moved house  and am living with my Mum and Dad now. It's weird how lonely I am...even though Mum and Dad are downstairs and my brother is in his room I feel really alone. Sigh.

Anyway there is some good news :) I have a JOB INTERVIEW!!! Now I am not getting my hopes up at all because it seems too good to be true. The starting salary is at least £500 more a year than I am on already and the job sounds really busy and interesting and challenging...just my cup of tea :j:j but I'm not getting my hopes up as I said *calms down* so yeah I have a phone interview on Wednesday so I will update with the outcome from that.

We have moved offices at work. I actually really like the new office. We used to work in a porta-cabin and now we have moved to an actual brick wall affair! Woooooooow. I like it alot.

STILL don't know if I am keeping my job there!!! I think I find out tomorrow? They are seriously messing everybody around, apparently some people are putting in complaints and stuff...they have told people they are being made redundant before the voluntary redundancy deadline so they've had to ask some people to come back! What a mess.

Anyway I am very very tired because I had to get up at 4.30AM...yes...in the MORNING!! _pale_ so I am going to bed (on my own...sigh...mope...moan etc)

Hope everybody is having a less confusing life than I am, I will write again soon

Awww Catherine I really feel for you - having been in that same situation as you at work I know how horrible it is, BUT I'll echo the person above who said that these things have a habit of working out for the best. I've been made redundant a number of times - I went through a period of managing to be in the right job at the wrong time - and have come out the other side with a job I absolutely LOVE.

Keep to your MSE ways - whatever happens with your work that gives you a good foundation for the future anyway.

    Hi Catherine,

Hope have heard about the job!
  • Hi Catherine - hope you're well :)

Have you had the job interview yet?

Let us know how you got on - hope your 4,30am start wasn't too hideous - I always call it 'airport time' if you have to get up really early, it always feels weird, like when you get up really early while it's still dark to go to the airport... xxx

Hope things not too bad living at home, and the travel. Had to do it myself for a couple of months earlier in the year and it was not fun.
Good that your job was safe this round :D Lets hope it stays that way.
  • Woooo hello everybody thanks for your replies, they do make me smile :-)

Things are looking up in Catherine-Town!

My job interview was awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwful! 90% of what I said was "ummmmmmmmmm" and "and stuff..." but it was a phone interview and they are scary mary.

Living at home is great! My commute to work isn't as horrible as I thought it'd be - it takes about the same amount of time to get there. I get nice dinners cooked every night, every where is tidy all the time, the heating is always on and I don't have to worry about paying for it! Bliss :-) It's done wonders for my relationship with OH too, we actually have got chance to miss each other which isn't nice at the time but makes it great when we do see each other. Plus I don't have to see any of his rubbish friends anymore :j

So yes, the job interview I did have was not great. But I applied for another job yesterday through an agency. It's the same type of job I do now but hopefully more stable and I might be able to negotiate more money...anyway I applied for it by email, 10 minutes later the agency woman rang me and I have never heard so much enthusiam! She was like "oooooh you're perfect for the job I'll get you as much salary as you need ooooh you're perfect ohhh when can you come for an interview" Weird!

My current workplace STILL haven't officially told me if I am keeping my job yet. Wi11y heads. If I don't manage to get another job soon it will be just me and the line manager left because everyone is leaving in protest because of the way HR have handled the redundancies! Uh-oh!

Wow I bet all of that makes no sense at all. I ramble when I'm happy :o

So to everybody reading this who is having bad things happen - don't worry, everything works out in the end :)

I have had to move house (away from my boyfriend and my independance) move jobs (away from my best friend and lovely little office) and possibly face redundancy in a very short space of time and I felt like just curling up in a ball in my bedroom and refusing to leave...but I decided to keep my head up and see the bright side of everything and now I am happier than I was before all this palarva! And I only cried twice the whole time! *insert muscle-man smiley*

Anyway I'll stop rambling now - thanks for reading everyone! I'll write again soon

P.S To keep the MSE theme - I should be getting my whole deposit back from my rented house - £660!!!!!! (I cleverly gave all the furniture to OH so I get to keep the whole deposit) :D

That sounds great Catherine, really pleased for you. I've been reading since the beginning. I'm 24 and moved back in with my parents about a year ago to save up for a house deposit and clear my debts. Have to say I love it too! I'm in a slightly different situation as when my OH moved from Ireland to England to be with me he moved in with my parents too, but its great as we only have to do 1/3 of the housework we'd be doing if we lived alone, and mum cooks for us, so we have so much more quality free time to spend together.

Best of luck with the new job process. x

LOL I wish! I might refuse to train new people unless I get paid for it, heh
I have got an interview tomorrow, don't want the job but want the interview experience. My mate wants the job (we both have interviews) so I'm gonna tell her all the questions I get asked so hopefully she'll storm her interview and they'll give her a job on the spot!
