I am the official company representative of BT. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
Hi. I'm in the same situation. My gf and I are moving to a new house and are looking to get Sky.
I phoned BT to ask if there is a line at the house and was told that they couldn't tell on the system if a line (the physical wire) was present and therefore needed to be installed or just a reconnection ordered so an engineer would need to visit the property to assess. Either way, the "line connection fee" would be £122.50.
I then spoke with Sky who told me they would charge a £25 connection fee which would include the wiring, inside and outside if needed. No brainer really!
As for good deals, my gf spoke with a guy on a stall in the the local shopping centre, he offered us the TV, BB and phone package (£26.50pm) with Sky+ and installation/conection for £55. Needless to say, we are going to go back and see him this weekend.

Surely this is touting for business which your signature strip says you are not allowed to do.0
