worms in compost

Earthworms are great for aerating the soil and necessary in a garden. they certainly won't eat your veg. Compost heaps tend to have smaller red or tiger worms which are necessary as they eat their way through stuff in the heap and in the process make compost.0

Earthworms = good compost
They'll certainly do your veggies no harm - quite the opposite. Infact if you have a compost heap of your own try and pick some out of what you've got and bung them in there they'll help it along beautifully

paulsm - you're in an envious position compared to most. I've never seen a worm in mine, but they must be there because I get wonderful compost.Tim0
