V+ Box very slow

Options
My V+ box is very slow, this is virgin medias answer to sky +. THe box slows down to hardly anything and becomes non responsive even though presses of the remote are indicated on the V box by the led flashing when I press buttons.

I only have recorded 4 hours of programmes on the hard drive out of 80 hours that I could use!!!

Any ideas? Sometimes its ok but others its terrible and then theres a delay in button presses so you press channel up a few times because its not working then 2minutes later it will change channel the number of times you have pressed the remote.

I have found Virgin boxes to be slow in comparison to Sky.

The non V plus boxes are fine in my opinion.

  • I have the predecessor to the V+ box which is still badged Telewest and was having similar issuses myself a couple of months ago.

I simply Googled the name of the box + 'reset' and this brought up a number of useful results. One showed me how, via various key presses on the remote, to completely reset the box.

The plus side was improved performance. The downside is that it wipes everything off the hard drive so ensure you have watched everything you need to first!

    Hope this helps ;)

Just reset it or power on/off. They do that every now and then.......
