Lack of service

I'm an Orange customer and have had my current (18mth) contract. Right from the start I have experienced dreadful problems with reception, despite the fact that I carefully checked all the places I go, and Orange confirmed they had full coverage (website postcode search). I cannot make or receive a call 95% of the time. If I do manage to make or receive a call it drops out within seconds. Orange have told me lack of network coverage is not grounds for canceling my contract. I'm paying them £35 a month for unlimited texts and 600 mins of calls that I can never use! I can't even get a signal long enough to complain to customer services!
Please, please can anyone help?

I always thought that lack of coverage if its at your permenant address was a ground for cancellation as the product is not fit for purpose which is a consumer right? Sure ill be corrected if this is wrong.

How long have you had the contract. It may be worth asking customer service to check your handset? I had a Samsung Tocco which gave me a really poor signal, where as the Nokia 5800 gives me full 3G signal.. It may be an issue with your handset. Do you have friends or family on Orange who can check the signal at your house?

I managed to cancel an 18mnth Orange contract AND get a refund of the weeks I'd already paid for due to poor coverage. Just don't give up trying.....
