Thanks ixwood n lotus, i'm gonna cut them down to ground level then cover them with cardboard and black plastic on top of that... and hope that at least stops some of them!

I am taking your advice ixwood :T and i'm gonna use the raised bed area for fruit - as you say, it makes sense cos i can make use of the fence behind to train them up! I'm gonna move the pear and blueberrys in autumn from the lottie, and i'm going to get my free jenny kiwi from my magazine and also get some grapes, a peach tree, plum tree (both dwarf), and raspberrys.

After this i want to make another area down the bottom of the garden into a raised bed and do veg in that. I didn't realise sweetcorn plants only produce 2 cobs max!! I only have 10 plants! 20 cobs isn't enough for us four!! Oh well, next year the lawn is making way for sweetcorn! :D

OH looked in the greenhouse today and i have TOMATOES at last!!! :j

My bottom leaves on my potato plants are going yellow: http://s613.photobucket.com/albums/tt212/Megansmum_album/?action=view&current=2009_07040014.jpg is this blight? Do i need to pull em up now or will I have lost the lot??
