Freeview HD - not until 2010 ?

Hi

i was reading the BBC HD webpage today and it said BBC HD wont be available on Freeview until 2010. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbchd/what_is_hd.shtml

I've read (cant find the link now) elsewhere that Freeview HD will be available by mid-2009 ?


Anyone else got any more info on this ?

HD is on Freeview already. You can only receive it via FreeSat at the moment. You need to buy one of their set top boxes and connect it to a sat dish. Sky's dish will work with it, if not then you need to have one put up. At the moment BBC HD and ITV HD is on there with more apparently following soon.

Assume you mean't Freesat has BBCHD not Freeview

According to ukfreetv my local transmitter Kendal will get BBCHD / ITVHD / Ch4HD on 2 Dec 2009, although we will lose Ch4+1 and ITV4 to make way for it.

The early statements from 2008 were quoting mid to late 2009. It does seem, as you state, that it's slipped back a bit.
