Widelats:- You'd be wrong to do so. The percentage of items lost or delayed in transit is very small, but then again, how many people bother to say anything when things go right ?

No-one that I know of here "can't be bothered" to do their job, sometimes things go wrong that cannot be avoided, some are human errors, some are system errors and some are just plain old bad luck.

How exactly, are items "lost" in transit in the first place? They are put in a van and transported, ar the huge cracks in the van floor?

Why should anyone say something when it goes right, it has been paid for, if it was a free service it would be praised but its not free it costs time and money.

Exactly what goes wrong that can not possibly be avoided?

I hope you do answer me i'm interested, seriously.

It's fairly obvious that parcels go through several pairs of hands, at warehouses, sorting offices, local courier depots and drivers before delivery to either a customer or store. There is plenty of scope for things such as parcels being put on the wrong vans, labels coming off or being damaged beyond reading, dishonest staff, mis-sorted or dropped parcels happen. The world is not perfect.

People are quick enough to complain when something goes wrong, but for every person who has a problem with a delivery, i'll bet a 1000 parcels are delivered with no problems at all.

Anyone who works with logistics will tell you that it is physically impossible to get every parcel delivered, on time and intact.
