Huh?

I got a letter from Virgin Atlantic Amex a couple days ago saying my interest rate was going up to 29.9%

Then today I got a letter syaing my credit limit was being reudced from £10,400 to £10,300.

Really, was there any need for that?!:rotfl:

I'm afraid this is quite a common occurrence on MBNA issued cards. Ditch the card and apply for another one.

It's a variable rate credit agreement and they have varied the interest rate.

I don't imagine £100 reduction is going to cause you any problems.

What is your current balance? They may be reducing it gradually. It is just MBNA reducing the risk with there customers. Do you have any late / missed payments?

Current balance is £5k but will be BT'd off soon. No late/missed payments, but my 0% deal just ended so I guess that's why they have boosted up the APR. It was 17.9% before so a rise to 29.9% is pretty extreme....
