    Getting nervous now........

I am to take my youngest for his blood tests tomorrow, the GP did explain but I could not take it all in of what blood tests they will be doing, I know one of them is the usual blood count and the extra to find out if there is anything going on in the blood, that may have been the cause to my son's swollen node in his groin.

However, today he is complaining that his wee is a little bit on the stingy side, I take it this would be maybe a side affect of the 500mg antibiotics he have been given to take over 5 days. Amoxicillin??

The GP informed us that the blood results should be ready for the following day, so Tuesday afternoon.
I expect its quicker now because the results are sent back to the surgery by computer, but still very anxious.

I'm sure all will be okay.

I was looking at some info in regards of "Cat scratch disease" as well, as he is a right one for teasing our cat, and of course the cat have retaliated back, by biting and scramming.

I must see it this way though, at least the problem is being dealt with, please wish us luck, thank you.:A

Good luck for tomorrow Di. Was not aware of antibiotics causing itching, could be the start of cystitis though my son had it when he was about 12/13 very rare in a male though. Anyway hope it all goes ok am sure it will. Lots of love. x

Hi Max and thank you too.:A

He have mentioned a burning weeing sensation, so you could be right, think I will tell him to get a wee sample done first thing in the morning as well - to take over the surgery the same time.

Sorry to hear your young son had this horrible cystitis.

    Thank you.:A

My son's bloods all done this morning, one nurse said they will not be back until Friday, then the other said no they should be back by tomorrow afternoon.......we told them the doc said the following day.
    A few bottles done.

I am so nervous, and of course I hide my anxiety at home, and I'm sure all will be okay.
The node is still up, although he says it seems to be getting smaller, I can't tell and they say not to prod about with it and he has today and it overlaps tomorrow to complete his course of antibiotics.

Of course he is a little young man now and don't want me molly coddling him lol.

Hiya Di, the nodes usually come up during an infection the that area. If he has a slight water infection or an infection down below (and I don't mean sexual cause not all infections there are!!) then these will come up. ALso they would show in a full blood count as the whites would be raised and the part of the whites that would be raised are the lymphocytes. They go up in infections and usually antibiotics are given.

I am sure this is information you would know working in hossies though.
