Thank you Pinknico.:A;)XX
I know jobs have been scarce and he is really lucky to have this job, so pleased, and am hoping now that hubby will hear soon of the job where he attended the interview last week with a start date, with him being let down by so many companies, (I know this is happening everywhere), but so far its looking more hopeful than the others.
Fingers crossed.
Hope you and your family are well hunni XX
He then broke his hand in the summer and had to sign off for 3 weeks and they have now said cause he signed off that he cannot go on the guaranteed interview/placement thing they are doing. This is our main gripe with our MP and we are hoping she can do something. They are saying he has not been unemployed for 12 months. He has though but he worked for 13 weeks and 3 weeks sick. Its so annoying when people say about not wanting to work:mad:. It certainly does not benefit someone of his age to get £50 a week and lounge around doing nothing. I know that with some it is not worthwhile going into work (moneywise that is) for a few hours and lose all the other benefits they would lose but to my son its a case of he has nothing to lose.
Would you lose a lot if your hubby worked Di and earned the minimum wage, I don't mean to be funny now but would it mean a drop in all the other things you get? I know of a couple that have two kids and her and her hubby do not work but they if any of them actually took a minimum wage job they would actually be worse off. Where is the sense in that??? Why do the government actually make you worse off for working?
Our MP has pm'd today and asked what kind of work my son would like, we have pm'd back and said its not as if you actually have ANY choice when you are unemployed so anything would do just to be out there and earning. Its certainly more than £50...:rolleyes:0 -

Has he had to go on the Flexible New Deal? My son had to do (otherwise he would lose his benefit) 13 weeks of full time work (working for the council) for the extra £15 a week. It was actually slave labour cause that was all they got but I must say he loved it.

Hi Marshallka
Yes hubby have been within this New Deal thing.
Can't remember the one Jamie was on, will have to ask him, something called "Wales Future jobs", something like that I think it was.
Sorry to hear of your son's hand Marshallka, hope he's okay from that.
And hope things get sorted out with the MP.
Thats the thing isn't it, not enough jobs and you can have lots of quals, they work hard for these as well.
If hubby starts its about £15 an hour plus shift allowance, we were having £150 a fortnight JSA, of course I get carers a week as well at about £55, and the council tax paid and still had to pay towards the mortgage, so its defo worthwhile if he gets this job.;)
Your right though with choices of jobs, its not what you want, its whats available. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Arh right.....I expect so, I know Tax credits make it up so much, but yes I imagine so.
Will have to work it out, but a job is a job, have to take whats there these days. X

http://www.freedomcentral.org.uk/2009/12/unemployment-figures-show-wales-is-coping-worse-than-the-rest-of-the-uk.html. I know that when I was on my own I worked and lost lots of other benefits I could have claimed and also hardly saw my son but I always thought it better (as no dad around) for him to grow up seeing that life was about earning money and not "getting" money. Seems I was wrong though in todays world. Looks like we are about to live in a society where its actually better off not to work from posts on here. (not yours by the way). I even emailed Gordon Brown for a rant yesterday. It seems that every scheme thing around for unemployed is actually another "statistic" thing to make numbers look better. Also I emailed about these free computers for "low income families" cause my two friends are both on their own and work for over 16 hours for minimum wage and cannot get them although they could no way afford to just fork out £500 to their kids for a new computer (we could not either) so what incentive is there to work half the time. This country is going mad. I told GB that my daughter had to have a computer off ebay and we had to buy bits and bobs for it to make it faster etc but she is made up with it but no way did it cost £500. So annoyed about my friends though.

Good for you for speaking up Marshallka :T:T.
I totally agree with you.
You made a good point or more there, the world have gone totally utterly mad.
Yeah I bet your annoyed, they should expand more on this computer scheme.
Let us know when you have a response, well done Marshallka.;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

It isn't expand that I would like Di. If it were me making the decision then I would make it whereby no-one got them:eek: and if there was spare cash it would be spent on the elderly and serious health care etc. Certainly not computers but I was just making a point that the "working" low income family are always being penalised.:rolleyes:0 -
I saw the words "spare cash" so thought I would see if there's any about! :rotfl:
Just been out clearing the driveway and as I went back into the conservatory, I heard a rumbling sound. I realised it was the snow coming off the roof of the house so legged it outside in case it came through the conservatory roof! All the time you're watching your back, you can never look forward...0 -

I am praying the rain will clear our snow up. I have a carport and there is a slight drift in there.:rotfl:0 -
