Good afternoon everyone, how are you all doing?
We had a lovely evening at friends last night they made chicken liver pate, pheasant, and chocolate roulade with strawbs and raspberries. It was really good and great company didnt get home till after 1am and it was so cold took ages to get to sleep.
So...slept in this morning then drove son to church, daughter to horse yard, husband to work then finally got to church myself. After the service we had a frugal lunch to raise money for HIV/Aids I ended up not having so much a frugal lunch polishing off 2 bowls of homemade lentil soup. It was really nice not to have had to make another meal and the group raised over £600.
We have a black lab seemingly the original breed tall and thin he is 8 now but still great fun he thinks he's 1 and loves the snow. Our friends have two great danes at the horses stable where Emma works they could have saddles on them and be ridden too....They have a habit of leaning on you too.
My Elbow has bruised really well still very tender and my whole body has crunched up I think it was the way I sprang back to my feet0 -

Afternoon DNPG.
Sounds like you had a smashing evening. Pheasant is a lovey meat to eat, along with venison and pigeon. Chocky roulade as well, yummy! You were spoilt last night!
Congrats on raising all that moeny, you guys did really well. They will probably have to use now to recover the cost of all the soup you ate!lol!
What's the name of your black lab? Does he fetch well? 8 is a good age, I'm sure they can last until they're about 12-14. Great Danes are brilliant! What colours are they and their names? Mine are called Charlie, whose 4 and a !!!!! and Griffin, whose 5 and a dog. They're both steel. Yep, every Dane we've had lean on you! It's a trait of the breed to show affection. (Or laziness). :rotfl:
Sorry to hear about your tension. Have you tried a really hot bath to relax? Your body does that to prevent further injury by tensing up but you still need to be active every now and then to prevent the muscles getting weak. All the time you're watching your back, you can never look forward...0 -
Yes we had a great evening I havent had pheasant before and really liked it, trouble is the pressure will be on when we have them over, not really they're good friends and we usually come up with something passable.
Sarge does not fetch well its like........ you threw it you get it:eek:.
He's not overly mad on swimming either and tries to round up any humans that are in the water thinking they're in trouble:D
The great danes are Kita 8 and black and white (like a fresian) and Shiloh 4 dappled grey. They all go to dog training together a great social for them,
You are so right about the tension we don't have a bath though that would really be I need.......We do have a shower just incase you thought we were lacking in the hygiene department
Whats everyone up to.0 -
Hiya Max
how are you and your family, hope your all well.:A
Have you still got the snow?
Its nice if you don't have to go anywhere but a right pain if you have to isn't it?
And of course we are all down in grit, maybe another week for the grit deliveries.
How is your daughter now Max?;) XXX
Hi Di
Yes thank you we are all OK and daughter is doing fine. It has not snowed today thank goodness. We have been out clearing the neighbours drives, pathways etc and walking up to tesco to get supplies for those unable to get anything. Police got stuck on our road this morning and we had to help dig them out. Tee Hee.
Had about 9 to 10 inches in the last couple of days. My son is devastated that he could not get into school:rolleyes:
Pup is loving the snow. I was clearing my daughters room out the other day and up kept coming in and stealing her socks and taking them downstairs. We thought he was funny at the time. Anyway yesterday he was sick. This morning he went out for a poop and I saw he was having problems when I went to clear it up there was a black sock in his poop:eek: Told my daughter not to worry have washed it and put it back in her drawer.:rotfl:
Hope you ok Di.x:mad:0 -
Hi Max,
At least the pup didn't poop a complete washing line . How is your daughter? Imagine your son being disappointed about not getting to school. My son has been wishing for snow so he deosnt have to go hes never been a lover of school.
Well done for clearing snow and shopping :AI know its been a pain all the bad weather but I think it has helped communities to pull together too, as long as there isnt too many tradegies.
Are you tucked up in the warmth now.:A0 -
Hi Donot pass go. No I was being sarcastic my son is over the moon over not going to school. It definitely pulls communities together it. My daughter is a lot better now although has not been back to the town where it happened. Is talking of going to Australia to stay with a friends family in April when she will be 18 think this will be the making of her.
Yes the wood burner is on full blast and cause it is sunday I may have to have an afternoon tipple. Tee Hee.x (Although I see from this site that some started earlier than me......................):mad:0 -
