Yes.. thanks Lorraine.. I've just been 'let out' of hospital - unfortunately I developed a non-specific infection on Friday and because the chemo has killed off my immunity system (does this in the the middle of every chemo cycle) I was unable to fight it. One minute I was OK and within an hour my temp was 39 degrees! I'm fine now though...

One funny thing happened today, I went into the shower this morning with a full head of hair and now I can pretty much name the ones I've got left .. it really was one of those "Tom & Jerry Cartoon" moments! I don't recognise myself in the mirror!! (still got my eyebrows though!!)

Wow, that was quick then paulinweston:confused:. My heart goes out to anyone that has this happen. Hope you are well otherwise in yourself and being careful. You sound like you are coping and certainly better than I would. :o

    Hi everyone.

Pinknico, hope your brother is doing okay hunni.:A

And Showergirl, everything crossed for you as well.;)

Paul, hope things are going okay for you.;)

    Thinking of you all.

Dad still in respite, over a month ago he was assessed under the Mental Health Act and was sectioned for section 2.
Today they have moved this to section 3.

Feel gutted, he had a fall last night, got out of breath, but was okay after he had his oxygen and nebuliser.
However, from another fall last week, he fractured his toes and his foot is still swollen black and blue.
Unfortunately, in my opinion, I think he has got worst since going in respite in the dementia hospital, when he first went in a few weeks back, there were guys and women there in their 80's and they do nothing but just sit there bless, and it seems that whatever they give them, dad is going the same way, he is only 68 and like an 80 year old now........

Anyway, enough of me, I'm sure they are doing all they can with him, but hope everyone here are okay.;)

    Thanks Marshallka.;)

I just hope he will be home on time for xmas.

All it takes is one set back, yet one day he can be okay and the next very agitated and confused.
Today he was calling staff murderers........, and not so up on things today.
They are still working on the medicines, but because of being on so many in the first place, its a matter of them being careful what to give.
I'm sure they will get there, but now he is starting to refuse the meds, think this is also one of the reasons they moved the sectioning up.

The review is every Tuesday morning, hopefully next Tuesday things will be better.;)

    Hi Di

Sorry to hear about your dad. The Section 3 will be up to a maximum of 6 months then before being re assessed. At least they will be able to give your dad the treatment as and when he needs it. I know people can get worse when they are first moved onto a unit as it confuses them even more. I hope he gets settled and sorted really quickly Di.

Thank you Max.;) And for the info as well.

I just thought I would ring the unit to see if he have calmed down, she said yes he is settled now and the assessment for section act 3 will be held on Friday, as Section 2 of 28 days was then due to run out.
I think its important to get the meds right for just as long as he does not refuse to take them, she mention they would have to give injections of some sort to calm him as well to see how he goes on them, but they are a bit of hit or miss really.

Missing him so much, as we are not able to see him much, so he is probably missing his family as well.

Will keep you posted, thanks so much and hope you and your family are well too. XXXXXXXX

Sorry to hear about your Dad Di. Hope he can get home in time for xmas.

Thanks eveyone for your support, wasn't too good yesterday as I was a bit uncomfortable. (Felt like I was having bad period pains). But I am feeling much better today. Just have to wait to see what the results are
