i know i dont post much these days but this was the board i started my trading journey on the stockmarket

hope people are doing well with there investments?
Its been a rollercoaster for me in 2012 but kept my head cool
and come out well to enter 2013 i ditched a lot of stocks which
could see what was not working at the time for me and regathered my head and im so glad i did now with the pleasure of hindsight

anyway enough of that stuff more to this "HAPPY NEW YEAR"

    :beer::beer:
Oh well we only live once ;-)

It maybe an an effect of short covering, this year the fiscal cliff could put a spanner in the works. I currently have 2 FTSE 100 short positions open as a hedge against recent gains.

Nope seems to be happening again, in fact the fiscal cliff has assisted.

  • Apple up 3% just now. Shame I sold some on new years eve then, I didnt think it had enough volume this market is a yoyo

Sold some Allianz Agriculture and also some Neptune Japan (post election mini boom) and this morning bought that tech fund as mentioned, its all cheap long term no great liability though Intel has it tough vs mobile phones getting too clever

Im about to start using my 50p trade account, niftiness hopefully

Fiscal cliff is a danger to cash money, currency, bonds, fixed return and anything relying on stability I guess
They are spending giant amounts, unbelievable almost beyond exaggeration.
Obama spent more in 4 years then every other president added together since USA began. We live in interesting times

90% of housing debt is backed by government. 90% of Government debt is being bought by Federal reserve.
Fed has no assets, no cash just QE so market 'going up' is normal I guess ?

Since 2009 market has fallen if measured in 1969 USA dollars. I expect that to continue, gold recent low to hold I reckon is a decent bet

or are we just having a go at 6100...a lot is measured by the jobs and growth numbers in the USA...so its wait and see for me.

I think it is time to take a little risk off the table and create space for re-investment if the market were to fall off a little, later on.

I do keep looking at my 70% gains on Lloyds ordinaries and wondering whether to put the money to work elsewhere. However, I think another 20% from here should be fairly easy over the next year.

this is what I meant in the previous post...you've got to keep a eye on the USA...job creation numbers and quarterly growth figures..

I'd rather just diversify and chill TBH!
