Good luck! Personally I'm selling most of my commodity stocks now as I believe that the bubble is getting a little bit too big. There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0

I am up 25% on those for just this financial year only and I was up over 40% on the lot I sold last March (to crystallise gain) so wouldn't be a shock.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Similarly, I got into First State Global Resources Fund (one of my ISA & SIPP unit trust funds) back in January last year and it's up around 45% to date. There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0 -

Surely they have to quote you a price that you agree too, before you sell.
I've done it a few times with SelfTrade and on most occasions the price I have been quoted has been pretty damn close to the online price.
Blinko, ring them up, ask for a quote to sell, you can always say no. You can do the split trades (as I have done in the past) even though most brokers have a disclaimer telling you not to do this as the trade may be cancelled / not go through.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True

As I said in my earlier post, good luck and that was not mean't in a derogatory sense at all, so I hope you didn't think so and that you do well out of CDC. Personally I tend to generally avoid individual company investments, prefering unit trusts, apart from the very rare long term (higher risk) punt, such as, currently, MWG (which CDC may well be for you of course). It's purely my investment style. However, at the same time, like most investors, I try to get in early and sell out when any sort of bubble is building. Commodities may well have more legs yet, maybe a lot more, but I'm happy with the recent returns and to largely cash out now and wait for another opportunity, maybe in commodities again down the road. There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0
