Not too bothered about the 4% loss as most of our savings are in a 6% egg saver. Very annoyed by the charges on withdrawing cash though. Will have to be careful of that for the future.

They're only charging a fee if you use an ATM to withdraw the money. Transfers of positive balances will remain free AFAICS.
That's true ... but when you try to transfer a balance to your current account, it tells you it will take SEVEN WORKING DAYS for the money to reach the destination account!!! Where is the money during these 7 working days?
Going from an account that isn't on the faster payments scheme into an account that might be on faster payments.

Bearing in mind that for the amounts talked about, faster payments almost certainly wouldn't apply anyway.

If it bothers you that much, pay for the privilege of taking it out of an ATM. At the rate of £500 a day. I'm sure it'll take longer than 7 working days to move £5,000 or more.
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries

Well, I live in hope! I transferred £20k to HSBC on 15th April and I'm hoping it will take less than 7 working days, but no sign of it yet. It took 2 days for the transfer even to appear on my Egg Money "latest transactions".
