Do you mean Dell Outlet I mentioned?

Go to the Dell Website, there's a link on their to the Outlet. They sell PCs/Laptops that have been ordered in error etc. Still new but at reduced prices.

Well you've pretty much come up with the spec you need already.

Some places you can source laptops from are Dell, as mentioned, ebuyer, pc world/curry's/dixons, comet, dabs.com, etc etc

Ebuyer seem to have some very good deals on occasions, though personally I have never had any problems with them, some people have had worse experiences.

Gateway laptops are well rated as per a recent gadget show programme as well - though it doesn't apper you can buy directly from them, though I may not have looked hard enough.

If weight is an issue, then make sure you get one that isn't too heavy - if it's a home machine, then is of no concern.

right thanks, im interested in the dell inspiron 630m, got it to £500 total.

512mb ram, 1.73 PM , 40gb hd
