Feeling guilty now at sowing seeds of confusion! Some people were confused because if you're not logged into audible the home page doesn't show the £1 offer. However, the email I got invites me to tell my friends and sends them to http://recp.rm05.net/ctt?kn=8&m=176064&r=MTEwMjgxMDg1MAS2&b=0&j=NTY4Njg5MTgS1&mt=2&rj=NTY2Nzg3MTQS1 This is a weird address but seems to get to the right offer. It might record that I'm recommending people but I haven't been offered any reward for doing this. The other link that seems to work is posted above. Sorry if this is confusing, guys - I'm doing my best.

    Hi Grownup1,

I've visited the site and was about to complete the registration form when I noticed that I'm able to enter someone who recommended me. I'd be happy to write your name in the box but I need your username to do so.

Can you also assure me that I am not making any commitments to make any further purchases at any time?

    Cheers, Wilf.
    Keep smiling!

Be warned the digital rights management required to play these files is pretty severe.

Its not an mp3 file as far as I can tell so can't just drag and drop onto your mp3 player.I'm not using itunes so needed to install there proprity player which is asking for access to the internet too many times for my liking...pretty intrusive IMHO

I'm trying to burn a CD to see if I can rip an mp3 off there only burns at 4x.This really bugs me I paid for the item (yeah I know its only a £1...its the principle)a selection of kids stories for my daughters £10 tesco mp3 player but doesn't seem to be a way to do this.

    Unless anyone knows differant?

Sorted it but I bet it contravenes tne T&C I signed up for at registration so I obviously won't be doing it ;-)

Looks like the sale page is not displaying anything now (since the sale was until 13/Mar!).

I do notice they have lots of freebies for other people... if interested... follow these instructions:
    • Browse Titles (top of main page)
    • Advanced Search (left-hand-side) under search box
    • Tick [1], [2], [3], and [4] and hit SUBMIT
    • Sort By: Price
I counted 35 titles at £0.00... and many, many others at below one quid (as per the title of this thread). Unsure if these are of any interest to people --- but for FREE well worth sticking in your basket with something else that you may buy.

Since you download the files --- I feel stupid trying to find out how much p&p was! :dork:

  • Hi
    A bit off topic here,
Great little program that converts protected/dmr/wma music or audiobook files, I'm afraid its not free, though you can download a trial version.

    Totally legit program

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the tip but I could only find one under £1.

Pretty much all the freebies are just interviews, although you can get a free 5 minute preview of the second series of Ricky Gervais (& chums) podcast.

Personally, I don't like the fact that you have to download extra software and you can't just download the files in mp3 format. :wall:
